Birthday treat – Oblix, The Shard, London Bridge

The restaurant is located on the 32nd floor of the Shard, and the views from this height did not disappoint. We went for a drink to start the evening, the bar was absolutely crowded, and we ended up sort of standing in the middle away from the bar area, but this was good to take in the views. A band was playing, and you can also eat in the bar area, from very low tables.

The restaurant, Oblix is cool! Walking in, you get a glimpse of the kitchen where all the food is cooked. To start, I had the smoked salmon flat bread with cream cheese and chives. This looked like a pizza, and I needed some help to finish it!

This was followed by steak, served with chips. I didn’t think I could manage a pudding after all this… but I still ate a chocolate sundae. Luckily I was wearing a loose dress!

Celeb spot: the bassist or drummer from Arcade Fire on the next table. He had pudding selection displayed on a tall tower tray! It looked very fancy.
